One of my favourite things in this world is antiques. I thrive in antique shops, markets and historic places because the essence they each hold speaks loudly to me! Knowing that mere things still exist that can attach our modern world to where it began years ago, is truly a treasure! These items can be as simple as an old locket from the 1900’s, a historic monument that is even older, vintage cars and even old houses and buildings rumoured to be haunted! All of them exist today as treasures on someone’s property, in someone’s garage or in historical museums to remind us of where we are today and why.

I personally admire how much the our world today attempts to restore and preserve such antiques, knowing they are essential pieces of the past and even present. Collecting and trading these items is now a trend among many, myself and my Mother’s side of the family included, as they become more beautiful and much more valuable to their owners with age.  Even with a bit of rust and decay, those items remain beautiful because of where they’ve led us and because of the memories they inspire.

Check out some of my “rusty” shots.  Antiques are definitely some of my favourite models for photoshoots!
